The Big Ball Spring 2014
March 2014 saw our big ball take place right here in the Glasgow University Union, in the very same rooms where we host our classes. There was music, women in beautiful dresses, men in handsome suits and of course, a whole lotta dancing! Some may say this was the first successful large scale event of the society. With members and non-members welcome books were thrown down, exams forgotten and the lippy was on for a night of elegant waltzing, rock and rollin’ jiving and on point cha-cha’s! This was the start of a biannual tradition we still have today.

The Old School House
In the early days of our society, many of our socials were hosted at a nearby bar called The Old School House. Now an old favourite amongst the society, The Old School House was the place to be in early 2014! Members would gather for a few drinks, some food and fun, before heading down to a club in the city centre to strut their funky ballroom stuff! Many of our smaller socials still take place here to grab a pint or two and rest those tired dancing feet. |
