Our Classes

There are three levels of classes. These are Beginner, Novice and Advanced (scroll below to read about each). Make sure your membership covers the class you're coming to, however if you're unsure about trying out a higher category, you can just pay a single-class fee to try it out before committing to a membership.

Beginner Classes

The Beginner Class is perfect for people who are completely new to Ballroom and Latin dancing or for improvers who just want a relaxed fun time dancing.

These classes aim to teach you the basic steps and technique of the dances we teach. You can then build on the skills you've learned in this class with the professional teacher in the Novice class when you feel ready.

We teach the Waltz, Quickstep, Cha cha cha and Jive regularly, along with workshops throughout the year on other dances. The beginner classes will also introduce you to the timings of each dance, skills in leading and following and position in hold.

They're also a great way to meet new people and have fun as you can change partners and dance with a range of people! This is also great if you want to find someone to compete with.

Novice classes

Our Novice class is great for all levels of dancers. It is taught by professional teachers who teach routines and will give advice on technique, timing and steps. In this class, you will be taught a routine made up of novice (restricted) steps, which will suit novice dancers as well as keen beginners who want to challenge themselves, allowing them to learn steps beyond beginner level and explore more technique.

Advanced classes

This class is aimed at members that either have a background in Ballroom/Latin dancing, or are very strongly committed to  regular training in preparation for competitions.

The Advanced class is taught by professional teachers, who will use their vast knowledge to push the members' understanding of Ballroom and Latin and to improve them as dancers. There will be a strong focus on frame, technique and improving partner work to refine what you already should know.

The Advanced class is not for beginners as it relies on the members having knowledge of Novice steps so that this foundation can be built upon. With that in mind we would also recommend this class to those of you who want to compete over the course of the year as it will aid massively your ability and technique, giving you a better chance of progression in the competitions.

If you are unsure what to join, speak to one of us after a lesson.
